A Life Of Joy

We live in a culture with lots of trauma. Is God joyful? What is joy? Joy is an emotion evoked by well-being, success or good fortune. How do we cultivate joy? To have joy, we have to decide to have joy. We worry about what we lost and not what we have.

Data show that 35% of Americans are happy, and the 10 richest country in the world have the highest rate of depression. People are obsessed with happy, they buy the latest electronic gadget, buy the best toys and the pursuit of more and more. But there is still a strange melancholy in the midst of abundance.

God experiences joy in you. “God will rejoice over you as a bridegroom rejoices over his bride.” Isaiah 62:5 (NLT)

God wants His joy to be our joy.  He commands you to be joyful. “Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again–rejoice!” Philippians 4:4.

We are in charge of our attitude and decision to have joy. Find joy in your salvation as well as salvation of others. Salvation is a joyous time. Joy connected with baptism. Joy in the midst of trails and difficulties – “We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance.” Romans 5:3 (NLT)

5 Ways For A Life Of Christian Joy

1. Surrender your life to Jesus

2. Submit totally to God

3. Commit your way to the Lord

4. Study the word of God

5. Share your life with others

Joy is contagious, become a part of the blessed epidemic. Hang out with joyful people. Catch the virus, get infected with the joy of your salvation and Jesus.

If you want joy, let Jesus come into my heart. God’s joy is in you, nobody can steal your joy.
